HGINFRA Bags Major Inter-State Power Transmission LOI

H.G. Infra Engineering Ltd (HGINFRA) has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL) for the development of an inter-state transmission system under the “WR-ER Inter-Regional Network Expansion Scheme – Part C” in Jharkhand.

The LOI, issued on June 13, 2026, marks HGINFRA’s entry into another strategic power transmission infrastructure project aimed at strengthening connectivity between India’s Western and Eastern power grids. The project has been awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process, a mechanism widely used for the development of major transmission assets across the country.

The scope of the project includes the establishment of critical transmission infrastructure designed to enhance inter-regional power transfer capability, improve grid resilience and support the growing demand for electricity across multiple states. The scheme forms part of broader efforts to modernize and expand the national transmission network, enabling more efficient movement of power between regions and facilitating the integration of new generation capacity.

By strengthening the transmission corridor between the Western and Eastern regions, the project is expected to improve grid reliability, reduce transmission constraints and support the seamless flow of electricity across the national grid.

The company has not disclosed the project cost, implementation timeline or other financial details at this stage. Further information is expected to be announced following the execution of definitive project agreements.

The award reinforces HGINFRA’s expanding presence in the power transmission sector and aligns with ongoing investments in India's energy infrastructure aimed at supporting long-term economic growth and energy security.
